The California Board for Professional Engineers is using the 2019 California Building Code (CBC 2019) and the ASCE 7-16 as the building code and seismic load standard for the CA seismic exam throughout 2023 testing quarters. The switch to use the 2022 California Building Code will occur starting January 2024 and the current recorded webinars (Fall 2023) addressed those changes, for candidates taking their exam in 2024. Please note the changes are not very significant when compared to the 2019 California Building Code.
